Summer of 2010

This summer we accomplished quite a lot. We planted 190 blueberry plants and have another 130 coming next Spring. Besides the rototilling, mowing and planting we also did some building. Below are pictures of how we reconditioned the old house. The part you are seeing was built in the 1940s. The passive solar is working very well.  The picture below is an update of the house with our new hand pump so we need no electricity to get water.  Look closely you can see a tomato plant in the window.  It still unfrozen on 23 November with no additional heat into the house except the passive solar.

We also built the root cellar that we can drive a lawn tractor and trailer into to unload produce.
